JAMMU, JANUARY 21 (KNO) : A conclave on synergizing Civil-Military Operations towards Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) was organized by Air Force Station Jammu on Sunday.
Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, Dilbagh Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The conclave was attended by Air Officer Commanding Jammu, Air Commodore Shashi Kant Mishra, VM, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Tariq Ahmed Ganai, Additional Commissioner Jammu Anuradha Wazir, Joint Director Fire & Emergency Services Jammu, RT Dubey, Director Disaster Management, Aamir Ali, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn, Shabir Ahmed Malik, Dy. CEO Mata Vaishnu Devi Shrine Board, Senior Officers from Civil Administration, Army, SDRF, Fire Services, Police and Air Port.
A presentation was made on the conduct of HADR missions during disasters and improving the efficacy of these operations in close coordination with Civil Authorities. Capability of deploying Helicopters and Remotely Piloted Aircrafts (RPA) during disasters was also discussed.
A number of displays, including flying the simulated operations by the helicopter and use of rescue equipment from the helicopter including rescue hoist, winching, using rescue cradle and bambi-bucket were conducted. SDRF and F&ES also showcased their ability to enter tall buildings from the top, using modern rescue vehicles like Bronto-Skylift, ladders and rescue methods.
Display of fire-fighting ability of SDRF and J&K Fire & Emergency Services and static display of all modern rescue equipment was showcased with the aim to conduct improved and coherent operations in future.(KNO)
